Pharmaceutical Business Segment Overview:  
The principal worldwide franchises are in the antifungal, anti-infective, cardiovascular, contraceptive, dermatology, gastrointestinal, hematology, immunology, neurology, oncology, pain management, and psychotropic fields. Pharmaceutical products are distributed directly and through wholesalers for use by healthcare professionals and the general public.
  
Intern Roles for MBAs within our Pharmaceutical companies:
  
Intern assignments are available to support the pharmaceutical sector's full time hiring strategy of the Experienced Commercial Leadership Development Program (ECLDP). Internships are available in the following fuctions: Business Analytics, Business Development, Product Marketing, Global Strategic Marketing, and Payor Marketing. The Intern will work closely with team members to play an active and integral role in meeting individual and business objectives designed to accelerate market growth of the assigned product.  The intern will gain experience and exposure to assessment tools and strategies that will enable the intern to understand the customer dynamics of the pharmaceutical marketplace. 
 
About the Experienced Commercial Leadership Development Program:
 
The Experienced Commercial Leadership Development Program (ECLDP) is a two-year program designed specifically to prepare future generations of business leaders within J&J and our commercial pharmaceutical business companies.  Participants develop critical leadership & technical skills through rotational assignments in several of  J&J's commercial pharmaceutical sector  business units, in-depth leadership & technical training, & on going coaching and feedback.  ECLDP participants complete 2, twelve-month rotations in any of the following functions: Sales, Business Analytics, Business Development, Product Marketing, Global Strategic Marketing, and Payor Marketing.  These rotational assignments are supplemented by classroom & e-learning training over the course of the two-year program.  Training covers all areas critical to success at J&J & is delivered through a combination of resources including ECLDP program leadership, key commercial pharmaceutical leaders, J&J Executives, & external consultants.
 
Positions are available at numerous operating companies located in or near Central NJ, North East PA, and Toronto, Canada.
 
All rotations are North America based, in the commercial pharmaceutical business, including Centocor-Ortho Biotech, Tibotec Therapeutics, Ortho-McNeil Janssen Pharmceuticals, Business Development, and Global Strategic Marketing & Market Access.   Each rotation will provide an excellent learning experience & an opportunity for ECLDP participants to utilize their leadership skills & technical knowledge to drive incremental value & change.  Additional underlying benefits from sector rotations are an expanded network of contacts, a diverse commercial pharmaceutical sector knowledge base, information sharing, & the skill sets necessary for future J&J inter-company movement.  The key to success in J&J is to understand the business & create value-added change in team-oriented environments, all key deliverables for ECLDP participants.  
 
 

  • Graduate student completing MBA in or before July, 2011 with a concentration in Healthcare Management (preferred)
  • Minimum of 4 years of business experience
  • We are looking for candidates with proven analytical skills who have a broad understanding of the healthcare business environment. 
  • Knowledge of key therapeutic areas is crucial.
  • Must be able to think strategically and be able to execute a plan effectively.
  • Excellent writing, presentation and communication skills are a must. 
  • Ability to work in a team environment with sound judgment, creativity and perseverance are required. 
  • Previous sales and/or marketing experience are a plus. 
  • Must have permanent work authorization in the U.S. or Canada.
