•Partner with regional and local C&PA colleagues to deliver high impact bi-lingual organizational communications that motivate, engage and align Janssen Japan employees around our business strategies;
•Partner with C&PA Leader to serve as a strategic business partner, providing communication counsel to the Management Committee to support their engagement with employees and external stakeholders;
•Play an active role in nurturting a culture that is grounded in Our Credo and HAYABUSA behaviors, underpinning a best-in-class pharmaceuticals organization;
•Activate global/regional pharmaceutical and enterprise initiatives and strategies, through thoughtful cultural adaptation and to align with local business priorities and programs;
•Ongoing, proactive and thoughtful assessment of company communication needs and channels, creative application of industry/business knowledge and trends, as well as cross-functional collaboration to strengthen the value of communication programs in support of Japan business strategies.

•Drive understanding of the Japan pharmaceuticals business strategy, by working with cross-functional as well as regional and local C&PA colleagues to develop, prioritize and execute holistic bi-lingual communication strategies, materials and campaigns (includes development of English language content for our monthly Management Message, Townhall presentations, people and strategy announcements as well as standalone campaigns in support of business priorities).
•Partner with therapeutic area C&PA colleagues to develop bi-lingual employee communications to raise awareness of product milestones and unmet needs in the disease areas we are active in.
•Together with local colleagues, serve as the voice of Japan in the development of regional and global C&PA programs, to ensure their maximum value and impact.  
•Champion and lead, as required, the activation of regional and global C&PA programs to drive cultural change that inspires our employees and strengthens their connectivity to both the region and enterprise (for e.g. initiatives that communicate the Johnson & Johnson (J&J) Purpose and Janssen Promise, and that strengthen the connection between Janssen and J&J).
•As required, partner with cross-sector Japan C&PA teams to strengthen the quality and effectiveness of bi-lingual enterprise communications.
•Support regional and global leader visits, developing C&PA programs and content to engage employees as well as external stakeholders around strategic priorities (includes Townhalls, speaker opportunities, editorials and media interviews, as required).
•Through close collaboration in the development of bi-lingual content, help Janssen Japan C&PA colleagues strengthen their English language skills.
•Collaborate with global, regional and local C&PA teams to identify opportunities for best practice sharing and to improve communication effectiveness in Japan. 
•Foster and actively contribute to a One Team mindset within the Janssen Japan C&PA team, actively encouraging team collaboration to drive the best outcomes.
•Demonstrate credibility, passion and commitment in building strong internal stakeholder relationships to achieve positive results. 
•Demonstrate a global mindset with knowledge, appreciation, and awareness of the J&J business, and the role that Japan Operating Companies have within it.
•Have an appreciation, awareness, understanding and empathy for different ideas and styles of working. Serve as a champion for change and innovation within the Japan C&PA team. Lead with strategic intent by prioritizing, focusing and efficiently managing solutions that impact the business.

<Education/Experience>
Education and/or additional training: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in journalism/communications, marketing, human resources, liberal arts, science or business. 

<Experience and functional competencies> 
•Proven performer with at least 3-5 years of experience in a communications role within an agency or multi-national company – preferably within the healthcare sector;
•Experience working in a matrix environment and an ability to think with an enterprise and global mindset;
•Understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and a passion for healthcare, demonstrated through work-experience and/or personal commitments;
•Experience developing successful programs and partnerships within bi-lingual settings, having an appreciation for the nuances required in multi-language communications;
•Ability to manage complexity, multiple priorities, and campaigns at the same time;
•Key problem-solving skills in developing communication strategies and actions aligned to the overall business strategy of the country, region and Global function;
•A high degree of independent judgment and decision making;
•Demonstrated ability to develop compelling stories, with superior written and oral English skills, and visual communication abilities;
•Deep understanding and utilization of digital and social platforms;
•Experience in managing budgets and schedules;
•Ability to stay aligned with overall strategic direction while applying diligence and attention to detail in execution and reliably meeting deadlines.
