OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB:


To work in partnership with key stakeholders to achieve and maintain optimal market access for our products in the EMEA region.

 

MAIN ACTIVITIES/TASKS:


  • Co-leading the HEMAR strategy for one product within the EMEA region and the co-ordination of Operating Company input into IBVT and global functions for products in development.
  • Preparing price and reimbursement negotiations in collaboration with Operating Companies and Global Market Access for launch products.

    Take accountability for developing and substantiating the value proposition of key products across the product lifecycle and collaborate effectively with global and local colleagues to create a compelling global value dossier

  • Coordinating the work of the product specific HEMAR Centres of Excellence and broader functional HEMAR networks within the EMEA region.

  • Representing or supporting the HEMAR function on the Integrated Brand Value Teams and global Extended Market Access and Price and Reimbursement Implementation Teams.

  • Proposing, driving and implementing all necessary projects and actions to fill the gaps in the value proposition and optimizing the market access situation of the concerned products.

  • Supporting operating companies in Price & Reimbursement negotiations and all other Market

    Access activities on an ad hoc and as needed basis.
  • Leveraging activities and outcomes across countries and focus on sharing best practices.

    Collaborate with IBVT and key countries to develop a compelling integrated evidence generation strategy that meets the needs of payers and differentiates our products in a robust way considering the role of alternative strategies including real-world evidence (RWE) programmes, clinical trials and database analysis.

  • Provide HEMAR expertise into development of relevant study documents including ReCAP processes, development of study protocols and statistical analyses plans.

  • Take a proactive role in disseminating and training countries on the market access strategy and associated tools and value communications.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • First degree or equivalent in Health Economics, Economics or a life-science relevant to the pharmaceutical industry
  • Advanced degree (MSc., MBA, Ph.D) in health economics or a closely related field is usually expected.

  • Deep understanding of Health Economics and modelling.

  • Good understanding of Clinical research methodologies, meta-analyses, retrospective and prospective data generation activities, relative effectiveness and all other aspects that are essential in creating an optimal value proposition and professional HTA or price & reimbursement submissions.

  • Good knowledge of the pricing and reimbursement environment in at least one country.

  • A clear understanding of major European price & reimbursement system

  • Ability to create alignment across functions and geographies and work constructively with diverse groups in a complex matrix.

  • Ability to think out-of-the-box and propose creative and solid solutions for very complex problems.

  • Excellent networking, listening, presentation, negotiation and scientific writing skills.

  • “Make it happen” and “roll up the sleeves” mentality, drive and motivation, persistence to achieve goals, and real team player.

  • Open to change with a flexible attitude to be able to handle a complex, multiple stakeholder environment, both internally and externally.

  • Seeing the big picture without losing analytical focus with an eye for detail as needed.

  • Excellent written and spoken English. Fluency in additional EMEA languages would be beneficial.

  • Awareness of and adherence to J&J Credo values, SOPs, Policies and Guidelines.

 
EXPERIENCE:

Extensive professional experience in Market Access & Health Economics at a pharmaceutical company at global, regional or operating company level.

 

The role is Central Europe based and will involve travel (<40%) within the home country and across the EMEA region.

It is anticipated that the role holder will be based in his/her current country of residence as long as easy access to travel/transportation and local hosting is available at a Janssen office.
